What we did Last Term
Summer 2009
As usual we spent a lot of time outdoors this term.
Our outdoor activities included a bar b q, mini Olympics, camp practise, a wide camp, Ready Steady Cook and our summer party at Badgers house. The summer party included swimming, tennis and trampolining.
We finished our Aim Hi badge, played parachute games, and held a talent evening. Well done to all the girls that took part in dancing singing and playing a variety of instruments. We had a good number of helpers that night and judging was carried our X factor style. Some Guiders definitely being meaner than others. A special well done to Gabriella our winner.
We had various patrol challenges including building a house and contents for ‘Mr and Mrs Peg’. A very enjoyable evening and some very well furnished homes were produced.
In the summer holidays 16 girls went to the Amersham West summer camp which was held at Phasels Wood 18th-25th July. We managed to have a lot of fun despite the showers. The girls took part in rifle shooting, high ropes courses, crate stacking and zip wires. We had an outing to Whipsnade zoo. The patrols went shopping and bought and cooked their own meals one evening and all the girls took part in various camp challenges and gained their ‘Traditions of Guiding’ badge and any Guides who had not camped before completed their ‘Camper’ badge.
